ANN MARIE DEANGELO  is an expert in all types of dance, with an illustrious career that spans almost four decades as a dancer, choreographer, director, teacher, and producer.  A former principal dancer of the Joffrey Ballet, she was featured in TIMEMagazine as “one of America’s most outstanding ballerinas” and in the New York Times as “one of American ballet’s most spectacular dancers”.  She later became the Associate Director of the Joffrey Ballet. Before that she was Artistic Director of Ballet D’Angelo, a diverse and eclectic group of dancers, that toured extensively in Europe; and founding Artistic Director of Ballet de Monterrey, in Mexico.   She has choreographed roughly 70 works including two musicals in China.  Her “The Bell Witch” a ghost love-story, was nominated for a Benois de la Danse Award, and a segment of it was performed at the Bolshoi Theater, in Moscow.  

Under her company DeAngelo Productions she creates collaborate projects between artists. The first one in 2001 was "The Variety Show: Jugglin’ Styles”, and the current one is “Ghetto Made: A Way Out” working along side hip hop pioneer Steve “Mr.Wiggles” Clemente. Also under her company she was the producer/director of 16 gala-shows for the Tony-Award winning organization Career Transition for Dancers at City Center in New York; and two similar shows for Capezio. These shows have included hundreds of dancers and dance luminaries from major ballet and modern dance companies with a wide range of diverse talents and personalities including: Paula Abdul, Debbie Allen, Ephrat “Bounce” Asherie, Cirque du Soleil, Andy Blankenbeuller, Marge Champion, Steve “Mr. Wiggles” Clemente, Misty Copeland, Herman Corneijo, DNA, Dance Theater of Harlem, Dorrance Dance, Michael Douglas, Robert Fairchild, Sutton Foster, Savion Glover, David Hallberg, Marvin Hamlisch, Dule Hill, Lex Ishimoto, Catherine-Zeta Jones, James Earl Jones, Jane Krakowski, Angela Lansbury, The Lombard Twins, Lypsinka, Nigel Lythgoe, Shirley MacLaine, Ann-Margret, Liza Minnelli, Mandy Moore, Bebe Neuwirth, New York City Ballet, Rosie O’Donnell, Parsons Dance, Billy Porter, Ann Reinking,  Desmond Richardson, Chita Rivera, Rock Steady Crew, Brooke Shields, Daniil Simkin, Jason Samuels Smth, Sonya Teyah Dance, Rasta Thomas, Tommy Tune, Ben Vereen, Travis Wall, Wendy Whelan, Christoper Wheeldon, and Karen Ziemba.

DeAngelo continues to teach for dance companies, universities, and summer courses throughout the country. In addition she has been movement coach to Bette Midler.   Her book, “Produce Yourself! Stand Up! Step Up! & Move!” is a rich dance/life metaphor that can serve as a useful tool for anyone seeking the courage to realizing their goals. 

DeAngelo is currently working on a film that illuminate her career relevance, as contributing to the evolution of dance history and our current social climate.
