Mounting high-profile special events requires an extraordinary artistic vision coupled with the ability to develop a creative concept; select and manage talent, including world-renowned celebrities; hire and oversee a production team including dozens of designers, technicians, and craftspeople; supervise all aspects of production, marketing, and graphic design; develop budgets; and more.
Each autumn since 2002, Ann Marie has served as producer/director for the Career Training for Dancers Gala at New York’s 2,750-seat City Center. Under her leadership, the event has showcased over 50 works featuring hundreds of dancers and other performers each year from a wide spectrum of the dance world that includes everything from ballet, Broadway, ballroom, circus, modern, hip hop, tap, and Momix, to ethnic dances of Japan, Brazil, India and American Indians. The gala has included performances and special appearances from such notable guest artists as James Earl Jones, Jane Krawkoski, Bebe Neuwirth, Sandy Duncan, Angela Lansbury, Liza Minnelli, Chita Rivera, Tommy Tune, Brooke Shields, and many others.
With Ann Marie at its helm, this unique cross-genre celebration of dancers and their artistry has earned its place as one of the highlights of the dance season in New York.
